John C. Conard
John C. Conard has handled more than 2,000 criminal cases in Minnesota.
As both a prosecutor and a defense attorney he has litigated and tried
serious felonies ranging from Murder or Criminal Sexual Conduct, to misdemeanor
domestic assault. His experience on both sides of the table enables him

Starting early in Junior High, John C. Conard has been a dominant debater.
Over the course of several years he won debates, tournaments, and Mock
Trials, ultimately receiving the National Forensic League seal of Superior
A National Winner
After a dominating debate career in high school, John C. Conard attended
Central College as a recipient of the Wormhoudt Pre-Law scholarship. In
his freshman year, he won the attorney award at the
National Intercollegiate Mock Trial tournament of the
American Mock Trial Association, the first student from his college to win this prestigious honor. He
went on to win consecutive regional tournaments for years. He also won
the GD Boat Endowed Scholarship, and the Vander Luct Award. John C. Conard
won more than 90 mock trials before he even graduated from college.
A Dominant Law Student
John C. Conard attended the William Mitchell College of Law as a
Founder’s Scholarship recipient. While in law school, he obtained top honors graduating
Suma Cum Laude and ranked third in his class. He was selected to Law Review twice, and
was chosen to represent William Mitchell at the
American College of Trial Lawyers trial competition. He also served as a law clerk for both the
Federal Public Defender, and the

in Anoka, MN. John C. Conard had his first jury trial while in law school.
An Experienced Lawyer
John C. Conard has handled more than 2,000 criminal cases on both sides
of the table. He has served for several years as a public defender in the 10
th Judicial District, with cases in Wright, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Anoka,
Washington, and Pine Counties. He has also handled serious felony cases
as an Assistant Ramsey County Attorney where he served on the adult felony
trial teams. Having taken serious felony cases to trial as both a defense
attorney and as a prosecutor, John C. Conard brings a unique and valuable
